Despite the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2015, 31 states still have laws that discriminate against people who are LGBT. Most people don’t know this. For the Gill Foundation/Ad Council, we developed Beyond I Do to show that LGBT Americans, like other Americans, simply want to live their lives without the fear of being fired or evicted simply because of who they love. The video earned 3M+ views in the first month and drove measurable increases in awareness, understanding and empathy on this issue.
